Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars

I love Bruno Mars. I think he's such a talented artist and songwriter. His musical style, I feel, hasn't changed very much over the years. However, his stuff never gets old because while he is a pop artist (at least that's how I categorize him), he incorporates elements of other genres into his music.  "Just The Way You Are" is one of the many songs I associate with good memories. Many years ago, I performed this song with my brother for my mom's birthday. So whenever I hear the song I think of that. Of course, there is some build up, but nothing that stands out. I think what makes the song special are the lyrics. The song tells the story of their relationship, in a very plain but poetic way. I'm aware that sounds a bit contradicting, but what I mean to say is that there are very little, if any, metaphors or analogies. Most of the lyrics tell exactly what she wants to say, but in a very flowery way. I think the lyrics help categorize this song as country because the song itself has a pretty heavy pop influen...
