Sh-boom by the Crew Cuts

It would be a missed opportunity to not do my listening blog on this song. I love this song. It definitely takes me back to my childhood. As everyone knows this song was in the "Cars" movie, which I watched a lot growing up. Because of that, I associate this song with happy memories. I can't help but think of the long road trips I had when I was younger, and we'd watch this movie in the car. I can probably quote the movie haha. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that listening to this song instantly takes me back to those simpler times. It evokes this child-like joy and happiness within me. But I think the composition of the song helps with that too. The song as a very upbeat melody, and from what I can tell, it's played in major keys which are considered the "happy notes". The lyrics are also positive. It's sung in the first person perspective of a guy professing his love to someone, saying that their "life could be dream" is only they accepted their love. Along with the upbeat tempo, and happy lyrics, there is a lively trumpet and scat singing that add to the vibe of the song.
